The Lady Isabel Project

The first series of pictures I've commissioned that are based on an external source, rather than just on my own character designs. These pictures have been drawn to illustrate a traditional English folk-song, "Lady Isabel and the Elf-Knight", which appears on Steeleye Span's album "Time". I've always admired the way that Scale can interpret fantasy themes in such a naturalistic and credible fashion, and have always felt that this particular song was a very good candidate for a set of furry pictures - so here it is. :)

Readers of "New Horizons" may recall Mary Hanson-Roberts' excellent illustration of a similar song, "The Outlandish Knight", which appears in Issue 2 of that magazine - but such coincidences are often found in the field of folk music, and any other resemblances between the two projects are entirely coincidental.
