Mike Flynn's Angels and Demons

"And four great beasts came up from the sea, diverse one from another. The first was like a lion, and had eagle's wings: I beheld till the wings thereof were plucked, and it was lifted up from the earth, and made stand upon the feet as a man, and a man's heart was given to it." (Daniel 7:3-4)

This area of the gallery features some of Mike Flynn's best work - his visions of Heaven, Hell and some of the denizens of the spiritual realm.

Mike, as you may have noticed, is undoubtedly my favourite artist working in the genre, and this selection of his pictures may give you some idea why that is. He's one of the few artists who can capture the more positive aspects of the dark side of spirituality - I like to think that his pictures give us an insight into the true place that "evil" has in God's greater scheme of things, but perhaps that's not the sort of topic that's appropriate for an introduction to an art collection.
